Hanna’s Reef is THE premier "Gulf Coast Beach Band". Based out of the Galveston Bay-Port Arthur area, this band knows firsthand about life on the Texas coast. In fact, the band's name comes from a popular fishing spot in Galveston Bay, near where the band members live. Hanna's Reef blends a mixture of their own extensive catalog of original beach (and sailing) songs, with classic Jimmy Buffett cover tunes. And to round things out, they throw in other fun "tropical" cover tunes to complete their repertoire.
Hanna's Reef performs regularly throughout the Gulf Coast area, from Corpus Christi, TX, on over to Key West, FL. In addition, the band performs throughout the state of Texas, and has performed in at least 15 different states. Their brand of "fun in the sun", tropical music is always a welcome breath of fresh air wherever they perform. The band strives to create a full blown " Texas - luau" atmosphere on stage. They combine the tropical elements of steel drums and Latin percussion with the driving beat of a rock and roll band. But they don't forget their roots: you'll hear a little bit of "Texas" music mixed in occasionally, as well as songs with a distinctive "Cajun" influence, in their show.
Hanna's Reef recorded a "live" album in August, 2002, entitled "REEF MADNESS". The CD features 13 cuts total, including 9 original tunes. The album captures the wild and crazy atmosphere that takes place at the band's live shows. It is available on this website, and also at www.amazon.com. In 2004, the band released it's first full-length studio album, "DEJA VIEW". That CD is also available here, as well as at amazon. Click here to hear sound clips from the CD. Additionally, the band plans a 2009 realease of their third album.
